Men are weak.

They suffer stress. They undergo pressure. They fall for some reason.

I have been busy for the last few weeks. I hardly can update this blog anymore. Work and commitments, they rule my every days. But there are two thing that’s so special that badly needs my attention. Life. And love.

My life needs remedy. My life needs more love. I need more of it.

And now that she’s come, I want to be with her always. I have missed so much of opportunities, I won’t miss this time. I can’t miss this one.

Life mode ON. Love mode ON.

Hiatus mode ON.

Also, I created another video out of a song I heard in my sisters room. The song is Peace On Earth by Tryad. It tackles global awareness and world peace. So go on and watch it, too.

I just arrived home from the cinema. I watched Sinking Of Japan. It was a great movie. The effects weren’t that great but story-wise, it was all good. Japan showcased their nationalism in this movie. I seldom cry while movie-watching, and this one does it.

After seeing the movie, I’m now addicted to a japanese girl(again, first was Aya Ueto of Azumi) ,and now it’s Ko Shibasaki (Reiko in the movie). She’s so pretty! Go on and watch it. It’s worth seeing Reiko, I mean the film.

She is Phyllis Turner, 94, who earned herself a masters degree in Medical Science last August 2 at The Adelaide University in Australia. She passed her thesis and noted as one of the brightest student at the university despite her age. Now thats the spirit.

August 1, my dear Lolo Aldous, died at the age of 87. For almost a decade he suffered from cancer of the intestine. Finally, he rests now with his creator. You will be remembered.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the body mistakenly destroys cells of the pancreas that produce insulin, a hormone that helps the body use glucose properly. It is usually diagnosed in childhood or early adulthood, and there is no cure. While Type 2 diabetes is a more common disease in which the body becomes resistant to the action of insulin or the body produces inadequate amounts of insulin to maintain normal blood sugar level.

The researchers at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and McGill University in Montreal said the new gene appears to be active almost exclusively in the body’s immune cells.

Writing on Sunday in the journal Nature, the researchers said they scanned the genomes of about 6,000 people, half of whom had type 1 diabetes, also called juvenile diabetes.

They confirmed the role of four genes previously implicated in raising risk for the disease, and identified a fifth gene, called KIAA0350, that they believe plays the biggest part of any of them in type 1 diabetes susceptibility.

There are two versions of the gene, Hakonarson said. People with one version experience a 50 percent increase in risk for type 1 diabetes, while those with the other version (Type 2) are protected from the disease.

Knowledge of the genetics of the disease also could lead to new treatments.

Since I was a kid, The Simpsons ruled our households.

In January 1992, during a campaign stop at a gathering of the National Religious Broadcasters, George H. W. Bush (father of the still US President) made a commitment to strengthen traditional values, promising to help American families become “a lot more like the Waltons and a lot less like the Simpsons.” A few days later, before the opening credits rolled on the animated sitcom’s weekly episode, The Simpsons issued its response. Seated in front of the television, the family watched Bush make his remarks. “Hey! We’re just like the Waltons,” said Bart. “We’re praying for an end to the Depression, too.” While the immediacy of the response was surprising, the retort was vintage Simpsons: tongue-in-cheek, subversive, skewering both the president’s cartoonish political antics and the culture that embraced them. Twelve months later, Bill Clinton moved into the White House. The Waltons were out; the Simpsons were in.

True. Harry made me sick.

After watching the Harry Potter – The Order Of The Phoenix on its first day, I had this high fever until now. Maybe because I’m too dumb to walk into the rain and enter a super-cold Robinson’s Manila cinema. But my end’s worth it. The movie was a blast. When I entered the premises, I cannot find myself a seat, they are all occupied. Wasn’t that enough justification the movie went great?

Satisfaction guaranteed, almost. This film sees the boy wizard growing up to face the dreadful truth of his destiny. This latest – fifth – cinematic outing of J.K. Rowling’s saga that Harry painfully begins to understand the battles with evil that lie ahead. It is a film where the balance of narrative tips from action to intrigue and there are some that will find that tedious.

I feel sorry for Sirius Black. May the God of all wizards guide his soul? or whatever it is called. In this film we got to see Harry having his first kiss. Yup, a kissing scene with her love interest Cho Chang played by Katie Leung. I find Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) more beautiful than Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and would like it better if she will be Harry’s (Daniel Radcliffe) partner. The Weasleys, as usual, proove to be the wierdos of the World of Magic. The twins Fred (James Phelps) and George (Oliver Phelps), with their lovely, naughty fireworks appeared very hilarious and entertaining. While Ginny (Bonnie Wright) is now ahead of his older brother Ron (Rupert Grint) when it comes to magic chanting.

I liked the acting of Imelda Staunton who portrayed Dolores Jane Umbridge, she is very much dislikeable in the film for taking over Hogwarts under her command. The great actress Helena Bonham Carter playing the role of the villain Bellatrix is very suitable for her role as an insane-looking wizard who escaped from Azkaban. Although her appearance was too short, she still is very effective. By the way, she killed Sirius (Gary Oldman) in the movie. Plus, Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) now has returned to Hogwarts bringing with him his giant step-brother.

Lots of new things to expect from this movie installment.

I dont want to spoil the film for those who haven’t seen it. You need to see it for yourself, or better yet, read the book.

While writing my Harry Potter semi-review, a heart breaking video news from CNN came in. Lady Bird Johnson, dies at 94.

The former first lady of President Lyndon Johnson, known for national beautifcation advocacy for USA, died in her home in Austin, Texas. Mrs. Johnson suffered strokes in 1993 and 2002, lost her ability to speak and was legally blind because of macular degeneration. Niel Spelce, a family spokesman said she died of respiratory failure. Her old body cannot take the old age anymore. “She did not have another stroke. She did not have a heart attack. She was simply 94 years old,” Spelce said.

The 1965 US Highway Beautification Bill was known as ‘The Lady Bird Bill’.

Bill Gates isn’t the world’s richest man as of now. He was dethroned by a Lebanese born Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim. He is more than $4B richer over the Microsoft founder. What irony it offers? Millions of Mexicans cross their border to find fortune to the wealthy American lands, almost same as what Filipinos do, and yet, the world’s richest man is in their country. I heard Bill Gates dropped his wallet and let the person who gave it back keep the money. And donated $500M to the government to support its fight against world poverty. I just hope Mr. Slim would do the same. So he can be as sexy as Gates’ image.

THE ubiquitous “jeepney,” a brightly painted commuter minibus that has been roaming the Philippines since World War II, has just become greener.

The electric-powered version of the vehicle appeared on Manila’s smog-choked streets yesterday in an effort to lessen urban pollution and climate change.

Two locally designed electric jeepneys were launched in the countries financial capital Makati by Greenpeace and Green Renewable Independent Power Producer Inc, or GRIPP.

While regular jeepneys guzzle 300 pesos (US$6.50) or more of diesel each day, the new jeepney can run 140 kilometers on an eight-hour battery charge for about 120 pesos (US$3), said Athena Ronquillo, founder of GRIPP.

“The iconic jeepney remains, but without wasteful and carbon emitting diesel, while providing increased incomes to the vehicles’ drivers,” she said. About 50 electric jeepneys are planned eventually. SD

The European Union urged the Philippines on Friday to spend more money on training soldiers in human rights and strengthen its legal system as it struggles to curb the killings of left-wing activists and journalists.

An EU team of experts concluded a 10-day mission to the Philippines to identify ways to boost the government’s ability to solve the killings, which one local human rights group estimates total more than 800 since 2001. Philippine military was waging “a dirty war” against left-wing activists, and not a single soldier had been prosecuted.

“The will of the government has to be matched by financial resources,” MacDonald told a news conference. “In addition to that, there may well be institutional and structural changes which have to be introduced in the legal system.” – Alistair Macdonald, head of European Commision’s delegates in Manila.
